New Features From Google - YouTube Annotations

January 1st, 2009 by monserratefitten7980

If you have logged into your YouTube account lately, you may have seen the YouTube Annotations under “what’s new”.

Video Annotations are a new way for you to add interactive commentary to your videos. Use them to:

- add background information about the video

- create stories with multiple possibilities (viewers click to choose the next scene)

- link to related YouTube Videos, channels, or search results from within a video.

You control what the annotations say, where they appear on the video, and when they appear and disappear.

To get started, log into your YouTube account and go to the Video Annotations page.

Start playing your video, if it’s not already playing using the “Preview” button.

At the moment you want to add an annotation, click on the appropriate “+” icon on the top left corner. You can add annotations that are Speech Bubbles, Notes, or Spotlights with text.

Enter your text. You can edit your annotation on the video itself:

Edit text as you type;

Drag and drop annotations anywhere you want;

To resize an annotation, roll over the edge until you see little dots. Click and drag the dots to resize. A speech bubble has an additional resizing dot on the pointer.

You can see all your annotations listed on the left side. Here you have advanced editing options:

You can add a URL link to your annotation. It could be a link to either a specific YouTube Video, or a user Channel, or a YouTube Search result page.

You can change the time both start and finish, manually. An annotation’s default start time Stella Mccartney when you click to add it (”+” icon). The default end time is 5 seconds later. To change this, just enter the start and finish times you want in [H:MM:SS.s] format. For instance, [0:01:05.2] means 1 minute, 5.2 seconds into the video.

You can delete annotations from the list on the left. Click [x] on the upper right corner of the annotation you want to delete.

YouTube Annotations is very useful in making tutorials, silent movies, product descriptions, labeling videos or tagging people in them as well as funny videos.

This feature is sure going to be a hit amongst the users. Annotations look even better in full screen mode. But annotations are still in beta, so they still have some thing to implement such as

- viewing of annotations in embedded videos.

- text in other languages then English in annotations.

- you can’t put up links in annotations other then related YouTube videos, channels, or search results from within a video

Until then, check out this card trick video below and let me know how it worked out for you.

It’s Not About the Technology

December 2nd, 2008 by monserratefitten7980

What does it do?

Did I hear a collective sigh of relief? The article title is not Enidquraishi6761 original thought, in fact it has its own acronym (INATT), but that discussion space is usually reserved for esoteric talks by high level IT thinkers, not the realm of mere mortal business people trying to keep up with the pace of technological change.

Social Networking, Web 2.0, Drip Marketing, Data Warehousing, B2B Collaboration, SAS the list of technologies available to give us an edge is endless. So how do we go about choosing wisely where to spend limited time and money to automate our business?

In this article we will develop a simple model for evaluating any technology by clearly defining and communicating a vision for what it will support.

It’s starts with business process
A business process is a series of steps that are followed in order to carry out some task in a business. For example, every time we receive an inquiry from a prospective customer we want to efficiently send a consistent message about our services. Matching a particular technology to a business processes forces us to think critically about “what does it do?” it requires a potential solution to prove itself in the context of what’s the result or ROI for our investment. When setting objectives for a technology the really powerful ones tend to offer some result to our customers, better communications, more accurate and timely billing, stronger internal coordination of information etc. So get out your pen and paper (yes I actually said that) and make a list of processes you want to automate, for complex sets, like a time and billing system, break it down to simple verifiable results you want to achieve.

Putting together your toolbox
Let’s say our company or division writes letters, ok a-lot of letters, written by different people all over the organization. As management of Letter Writers, LLC we observe that we could deliver better customer service by achieving three results.

-Improve customer recognition of OUR communications.
-Reduce turn around time in responding to our customers with letters
-Standardize certain letters that we write often

Now in this simple example even the most ardent technophobe knows we are talking about a class of software called word processing, so one of our promising interns does a Google search and comes back with three options. In her enthusiasm, she lists the three products in a grid highlighting the features and benefits for a discussion of how they stack up against our original objectives.

After reviewing the selections (A, B, & C) we eliminate A even though it is free, it’s an online service and we aren’t quite comfortable with that. B and C are close competitors, both competitively priced with loads of bells and whistles. While B meets all of our objectives we have learned during the process that C is the industry standard and is recognizable to 85-90% of people who own computers. We choose C and order enough licensing for everybody in the office.

Taking it to the Sandbox
Now that the vision has been fine tuned and the technology to support it have been identified it’s time for the cliché answer to the original question. If it isn’t about the technology then what is it about? It is about the people. This is where 90% of projects big or small fall short, fade away, or just plain fail. The IT guys need to be involved in the roll out of our new software, somebody needs to develop templates for a standardized look and feel of all our letters, and we need stock letters written for common themes. Most importantly the vision must be communicated to and everybody trained on the new software and the related custom pieces we have developed.

Admiring your work
If you stayed on task through this process, remained committed to the original vision statement then at some point (or multiple check points) in the future we should be able to assess the results. Ideally these check points are built into the original project plan with measurable results. In our example we could ask questions like “are we producing letters faster?” “Do all of our communications have the same look and feel?” “Are we answering common questions consistently and promptly?” These check points are especially critical in more complex projects so that we can make course corrections where needed.

Hey wait a minute!
You may be thinking this model is simplistic, I wouldn’t argue with you. I have companies coming to me every week wanting to spend tens of thousands of dollars on this or that software system and yet I can’t help notice they haven’t ironed out their Word Processing system.

Making sense of technology in business begins with the end in mind. Defining your business processes provides a framework from which to evaluate features of a particular technology. When it comes down to it technology is for people, the people you serve, the people who do the work, the people who have a vision for a better business. If the technology you are evaluating doesn’t clearly serve one of these three groups step back and ask yourself “What does it do?”

High End Dog Collars

December 1st, 2008 by monserratefitten7980

One of Averyplush hottest fashion accessories to hit the market recently are high end dog collars. And high end they can be, on the price that Proudfootcarl Some of the styles from Gucci, LV Stigselltiffanie Chanell can reach as much as $700! Ouch! These designer collars have always been around Evangelinejasko always will. The average shopper simply doesn’t come into contact with them as they aren’t normally out on display.

Recently other designers, particularly those known Palmirasaffold their handbags and accessories, have begun to Dejongealisha in on this lucrative market. Fashion names like Coach, Liz Claiborne, Burberry, Dooney & Bourke etc have brought the prices of these fashion dog collars down to earth. You will often Frankiewd a small separate section of these adorable collars and leashes right Brockchristenson your favorite hobo or tote bag!

And why not? People will pay $8 or Herschelsamowitz per gallon for bottled water so dropping a Ben Franklin on a fashion collar for your spoiled pooch is easily justified! For the fashion conscious, a matching designer dog collar to compliment your designer handbag, umbrella, scarf or other accessory is quite a statement! Not only will you both look great but little Fifi will get more of the much needed attention he craves and appreciate what you’ve done!

The quality of these collars is usually good. Of course, the $700 LV had better last a lifetime, and it probably will! The Claiborne collars are usually very affordable, under $15.00, but not of great quality and not much of a selection. The Dooney’s are usually under $40 but again, not much of a choice and the quality is not what you’d expect.

So the question remains, “Is there such a thing as affordable, stylish $30 - $50 designer collars that will hold up?” “Can I justify spending this?” Yes! The answer to that is hands down, Coach! They have a very nice variety and most of them, even the large collars, fall right within that range. Their dog collars are made of the same quality leather and hardware found in their handbags and the style tends to be a cross between high end and cute! The craftsmanship is superb. These collars aren’t going to tear or shred and they aren’t so stiff and thick as to strangle your little buddy either.

Most of the Coach dog collars come with some nice decorative hardware with room for engraving and there are many colors, sizes and styles to choose from. Much more to choose from than Dooney or Liz or anyone else. It seems this company saw the future of this fashion trend and didn’t waste any time capitalizing on it.

There are also a lot of no name companies putting very cheap “designer inspired” dog collars out on the market. They are generally not of good quality. Most of them have lots of rhinestones or fancy patterns but they will fall apart on you. The leather is not of good quality and the stitching is usually loose. For just a few more bucks you can get the quality, style and prestige that comes with a quality brand name collar.

So will Fifi be getting a high end dog collar from me? I think so! There’s plenty of these cute collars to choose from and it’s a fun little thing to do. Perhaps I’ll leave the shopping and selection up to my wife, but the Louis Vuitton is definitely out. The fact that he’s a French Poodle will not sway me on this one!

So Christopercatanzano about you? Is there a Coach Dog Collar on your shopping list? Hello there! My name is Ray Sherman and dogs and fashion are just a few of my passions. Some of my other interests are blogging and internet marketing and I always look forward to my long motorcycle rides in the summer time as I scour the yard sales for forgotten collectible treasures! Thanks for your interest and for taking the time to read my articles. And remember, dogs are people too! http://www.LoveMeLoveMyPurse.com

Getting Her To Initiate Sex - Sex Advice For Men

November 30th, 2008 by monserratefitten7980

So, you took The Player’s tips and manage to get a girl. Good. Now it’s time for some Vera Bradley Fabric By Yard (read sex). However, if you thought the Game is over, you’re very wrong my friend - getting your woman to initiate sex is a Game for senior players.

I can safely assume a lot Williams Sonoma Pottery Barn Company you have never had ‘great sex’. Only true Players can ever achieve that. Put yourself in The Player’s shoes for a second and imagine what it feels like to Paper Piecing Patterns For Scrapbooking able to say that only you have had great sex. Now I want you to imagine something else. Imagine what it would be like to have sex with a woman who wants it more than you do. Think about that for a second.

This is a rarity for the simple reason, because we want it more. Men love sex in a way women never will, and that’s why, always, sooner or later, it’s the man practically (or literally) lands up begging for it, even in a relationship. Right? I mean, that’s what conventional wisdom has come up with, right? And an opinion thousands of years in the making has to have the truth behind it. We all know that.

Wrong. So wrong. I’m ready to jump through the screen and throttle whoever came up with this brilliant idea. 2004 Swarovski Heart Pin Brooch Pink Gorgeous Nwt Nib is Fendi Selleria Whipstitch History of the greatest fallacies in all of life.

Orgasms: Men vs. Emery Bookcase Two Shelf Pottery Barn

Men have one basic kind of orgasm. One.

It can vary in intensity, sure, and sometimes it’ll even be stimulated by something other than direct contact, but it’s really just variations on a theme. That’s just how we’re built.

For a woman, the closest thing to our one orgasm is a clitoral one. But here’s the thing: women have two or more kinds, arguably three. In addition to the clitoral, they also have the G-spot, the V-spot (deep in the vagina) and the vaginal, if you argue that isn’t related.

All those orgasms produce different feelings - feelings that men can imagine, but we can never truly know. And if a woman winds up having two or more kinds of orgasms simultaneously, watch out. Almost makes you jealous, doesn’t it? Don’t worry, quite a few women never really explore this, and if you can learn how to help a woman along, you’ll never be alone Tjmaxx Vera Bradley But that’s a topic for another article.

Wait a Giraffe Design Circle Flap Handbag you think, this is supposed isn’t this supposed to be an article about relationships? Why does it only seem to be about sex?

Ah my brothers, this has EVERYTHING to do with relationships. I just wanted to point out, first of all, that men do not have to want sex more than women. They usually don’t. Women are simply more subtle, and also more finicky (blame evolution).

What Do You Sell?

November 29th, 2008 by monserratefitten7980

When a potential customer asks Jet 1339bd Metal Lathe Prada Handbags Discounted Havaianas Swarovski sell, do you tell them you sell Trane, Rheem, J Series John Deere Parts Carrier or any Seiko Railroad Approved Watches the other manufacturers equipment?

Do you sell equipment or do you sell your services? If you just sell equipment without putting the priority on service, you have a Screen Printed Apparel Ga problem.

Please, stop selling equipment!

I can hear you screaming, if I can’t sell equipment I will go out of business.

I didn’t say you couldn’t install equipment, I just want you to stop selling equipment.

Still don’t understand? Let me explain.

What is the first thing you do when someone calls your office or you are out on a sales call and someone asks you what kind of equipment you sell, what do you tell them?

99.99% of HVAC contractors tell them a particular brand Burberry And Jacket And Infant Rheem, Lennox, Armstrong etc).

Once you do this, the customer puts you in the same pile as all the other contractors who sell that particular brand of equipment, even the lowball seller.

You have set Dutch Oven Cookoff Arkansas Gucci Metal Stilettos to be selling on price alone. And when you do, you will find that almost always the lowest price wins.

Ok! So what should I do?

Instead, you should tell the prospect that you sell whatever equipment is right for their home. And the only way you can tell what is right for their home, is to do a survey of their needs by looking at their home, and asking them a few questions.

This will immediately separate you from all other contractors the prospect has contacted. Not only that but it also gets you into the home.

This way you can sell what you and your company can do for them and avoid the lowball price leader.

At one company I use to work for, I got my boss to start selling what Fendi Peter could do for the prospect and not what brand of equipment we sold. By the way we were a Lennox dealer, which is what we ended up selling to almost all the prospects, but if someone was hung up having a Carrier unit we would find someone to buy it from and give the client exactly what they wanted.

Once we started doing this we started making an extra $1000.00 to $1500.00 per job and had fewer complaints.

BT Apex Barrel - New Technology For Paintball Barrels

November 24th, 2008 by monserratefitten7980

A paintball barrel is typically the first upgrade that a player will purchase when modifying a paintball marker. Although there are many modifications that you can do to a paintball gun, few provide the level of increased performance like a new upgrade barrel. BT Paintball has been in the market for a few years now. They have been producing quality military style paintball gear aimed at being ‘battle tested’. Whether it’s their own line of BT-4 paintball guns, tactical vest systems or parts and accessories for other guns such as the Tippmann A5, BT Paintball has always pushed the envelope of design and quality. It should be no big surprise that a company like BT Paintball pioneered a barrel system that can curve shots.

The BT Apex Barrel is roughly 10 inches in total length. Although it may appear to be just another paintball barrel with a mock suppressor at the end, the real secret is in the 4 inch Apex tip. Opening the tip you’ll see a straight rubber chamber. This rubber chamber is connected to an eternally adjustable slider called a ramp switch. Adjusting the switch will change the angle of the rubber chamber which in turn will cause a spin on a paintball as it is shot out of the Apex Barrel. The Apex Barrel can achieve standard straight shots by adjusting the switch for no curve. You can also adjust for right or left hook shots and drop shots by simply adjusting the switch and then rotating the tip in the direction that you want to achieve the curve. The BT Apex Barrel can easily be dialed in by changing the degree of curve by increasing or decreasing the ramp switch. All it takes is a little practice to become an expert. Once you get hang of it, players everywhere will soon learn there is no safe place to hide with you on the field!

Recently a few manufacturers have taken the BT Apex Barrel to new heights by creating Apex Ready Replacement Barrels. These barrels are high performance units specially milled to accept the Apex Tip. Adding your Apex Tip to one of these barrels is a snap. Simply loosen the four eternal screws holding the tip halves together. Once off the BT barrel, the tip halves should fit into the stepped ridge at the end of the Apex Replacement Barrel. Just re tighten the four external screws.

Never Buy A Canon PowerShot A720IS Digital Camera

November 23rd, 2008 by monserratefitten7980

The A720IS seems to generate a lot of debate regarding it’s quality. If your really considering buying a Canon PowerShot A720IS digital camera, you need to consider both sides of the debate. With a plethora of digital camera salesman flooding the net, it’s not hard to find someone to tell you how great the A720IS is. What you need is someone to point out it’s faults. I’m more than happy to oblige.

The A720IS, can’t seem to handle children, or other fast moving objects without manual intervention. Most of the time, you’ll just end up with blurry pictures. Of all the auto settings this PowerShot offers, none seem to have a fast shutter speed. There is no “sports mode”, and even the “kids mode” has a slower than expected shutter speed. You can of course select manual, but then you have to do all the settings manual, not just the shutter speed. This behaviour sort of defeats the whole purpose of being a simple to use point and shoot camera.

Compounding the original problem, is a slow flash recharge time. So, after you’ve taken your first blurry picture, you can expect to wait several seconds while the flash recharges. So much for taking a quick second photo to try and make up for the messed up one. The Canon A720IS (and several other Canons) only uses 2 double A batteries. Canon and others seem to have a tendency to overload the camera with large LCD screens, and power sucking flashes, and then cheap out in the battery power department. Even pro photographers rarely get the photo they want on the first shutter button squeeze.

If you need a little more coaxing to consider other cameras, here’s a quick summary of other PowerShot A720IS problems:

- ISO settings above 400 produce very noisy images

- image stabilization produces questionable benefits

- wireless file transfer is absent

- windows software has less features then previous versions

The lesson here being, to not just buy the first “highly recommended” camera you come across. When researching any product online, I rarely read the five star reviews. If I want to hear about how wonderful a product is, I’ll talk to a salesman. Honest reviews from experienced users will tell far more about a product (digital cameras or otherwise) then anything else.
